Support Art Bookbinder’s Dream
Lighthouse of Collier (LOC) is honored to have received a generous gift of $427,373.90 through Arthur (Art) Bookbinder’s estate. This gift reflects his lifelong commitment to empowering people who are blind and visually impaired.
“We are so grateful for Art Bookbinder’s lasting generosity,” says LOC CEO Robin Goldstone Garcia. “He was a dedicated supporter, true friend, and mentor. His belief in our work lives on through this gift, helping ensure that individuals in Collier County who are blind and visually impaired receive the vital services they need.”
Art ultimately lost all his vision, but his kindness never wavered. His legacy lives on in every child at summer camp, every adult mastering assistive technology, and every senior regaining confidence in daily living.
Though Art passed away in 2020 and Sue earlier this year, their commitment continues through this extraordinary gift. The Board of Directors will thoughtfully determine how these funds can best advance our mission and serve future generations of individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
