Lighthouse of Collier (LOC) is proud to announce that it received a $5,000 capacity grant from the Collier Community Foundation (CCF). The funding will cover LOC’s transition to SharePoint. It’s a cloud-based service that makes storing and tracking information easy and safe.
SharePoint will replace our outdated server, which stores valuable information that could otherwise be lost in a fire or flood at our facility. By moving to SharePoint, LOC will better protect critical records from being compromised or destroyed. It will provide advanced document management features that make it easy to access files at the click of a button. SharePoint will save everyone time by eliminating the need to search through endless files throughout the day.
Our new cloud-based service will also provide an extra layer of security. We serve hundreds of clients with confidential information, and we want to make sure we take the necessary steps to keep their information safe. SharePoint will also add enhanced security to private financial information.
Lastly, SharePoint gives employees the opportunity to access our server from any device. This feature alone promotes real-time collaboration and mobile access for staff in the field. It’s essential for our Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) to access the server when they’re doing home visits or teaching lessons.
LOC is grateful for CCF’s support in this initiative. Opportunities like this would not be possible without them. We want to thank them for everything they do for our organization! CCF has drastically enhanced the quality of life for all our clients who are blind and visually impaired. Examples can be seen in every child who learns a new assistive technology device and in every adult who learns how to use a white cane properly. Thank you, CCF!
